Using NFAM and the Golden Rule Logo to Promote Your Funeral Home
Presenter: Janet Protzel
Today’s funeral home needs to have a high profile in the community so that, when the need arises, a family will think of that funeral home first. One tool OGR members can use is National Family Appreciation Month (NFAM) to promote their home in the community and also assist local students. Another tool is the Golden Rule logo. Janet Protzel, Director of Communications with OGR, will be joined by OGR members who have been successful in utilizing these simple tools to “advertise” themselves in their communities.

First Impressions: The Art of the Telephone Conversation
Presenter: JoAnn Baldwin
More and more of today’s families are “shopping” for funeral arrangements when a loved one dies. The person who answers the telephone at your funeral home must be more than an operator – they must have the proper information and telephone skills to assist the family so they choose your funeral home for their needs. Join JoAnn Baldwin, CFSP, ASTD, Aurora Casket Company, as she discusses answering and making first calls, appointment setting and
handling shoppers.
